Cat and Hazel met over 30 years ago in a gym in Glasgow and found that instead of being there to gently glow in their attractive matching gym wear, both were there not so picturesquely busting a gut, lashing sweat (sometimes blood and tears) weight training, circuits and competing with the men in the gym competitions. Easing off was not really and option and over the years their friendship has cemented and grown over their tendency to push the limits and not have much of a filter in terms of doing things to an excess. At the time they met, Cat was newly in the Police force and Hazel, coincidentally just about to join. Whilst their individual career paths were a little different, their tendency to attract weird, wonderful and downright bizarre events were very much the same. Around ten years ago Hazel was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and Cat was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Both diagnosese had a massive impact on the pace they both operated at and since this time they have fought to manage each condition - Hazel now having had both hips replaced in the last year and Cat managing the complexities of insulin and dietary management.

Having both recently retired they have decided to set themselves a decent challenge that will push them and the conditions they deal with and between 23rd-30th August 2024 they will complete the 96 mile West Highland way.

The Police Treatment centres are a registered charity and both have benefitted from this centre of excellence over the years due to various injuries not least for Hazel post hip surgery and of course Diabetes UK is a charity that Cat tirelessly fundraises for.
