Story
Hi friends and family,
I've found myself in a bit of a fitness and wellbeing rut lately, with M & S pastries at work and a beer at home becoming staples of my diet, while exercise has taken a backseat. So, what better way to make a positive change than by signing up for the Birmingham Triathlon!
In just 18 weeks, I will be taking on an exciting challenge that includes:
- 750m Swim in a lake in Sutton Park.
- 20km Cycle.
- 5km Run.
This journey is not just about getting back into shape; it’s also about supporting Acacia Family Support, a charity that holds a special place in my heart. Acacia Family Support provides vital assistance to mums and families grappling with pre and post-natal depression. They believe that no parent should have to face these challenges alone. Through one-to-one befriending, group work sessions using CBT, telephone support, and help in the home, they offer invaluable support.
One mum shared her experience: “I look forward to Monday mornings knowing I will be listened to. Having a place to talk things through has really changed how I was feeling, and just being around other mums with post-natal depression makes me feel more normal.”
I am determined not only to regain my fitness but also to make a meaningful difference for new mums and dads in and around Birmingham. I kindly ask for your support — every pound you contribute will not only help keep me focused on my training but will also make a real impact on the lives of those who need it most. My target is £200, and together we can create positive change!
Thank you for your generosity!
