Story
I'm running the Oxford Half for SeeSaw because of the great work they do supporting bereaved children and young people in Oxfordshire. As I lost my Mum as a child, this is a cause close to my heart.
This is also a significant personal challenge. I have not run far in a long time! I last ran a half marathon in 2015; 11 years and three babies later, it all feels a bit harder.
I filled in for SeeSaw at the last minute, so I haven't had much time to prepare, but I have been fitting in training runs wherever I can. In some ways, the training reflects my life: I feel like I'm always running between things, always finding there isn't enough time and always feeling unprepared. Still, there is something empowering about choosing to do this run in spite of other demands!
I hope to make it around in one piece. If I manage to run or shuffle the whole way, I will be chuffed. Your support will mean a great deal and will certainly help motivate me on the race day.
