HFC Kilometres For Kids

Catherine Streeter is raising money for Help For Children UK

HFC Kilometres for Kids · 10 May 2025

We aim to run a collective 3,492kms representing the number of children affected by abuse who receive help from HFC (UK). All training kms from February will contribute to the total with a final half marathon on 10th May, 2025.

Story

First there was the Paratroopers 10 mile backpack run, then came Tough Mudder, and this year I’m taking on the Kilometres for Kids challenge! Once again, I am doing this to support Help for Children (HFC), a charity close to my heart and one I am incredibly passionate about. HFC is a charity supported by the alternative investment sector across the globe. Together, we raise much needed funds to combat child maltreatment in every form around the world, where it is estimated that 1 billion children suffer some form of violence or abuse every year. HFC globally has raised over $58M since inception and touched more that 1 million childrens lives. We are determined to continue the work that we do alongside academics, social welfare experts and charities to protect children from harm.

This year, Help For Children UK has created a bespoke challenge for volunteers across the industry, to collectively run 6,984 kms (Doubled from the original target of 3,492kms!). I will be doing whatever I can to contribute as many kilometres as possible to this total, including running the half marathon on 10th May. This will the longest distance I have ever run!

Those taking part are all members of the finance industry who truly believe the work HFC does is worthwhile and so have agreed to take part this extraordinary challenge.
