Story
Gus the dog is to attract attention!
In 2005 many of us got involved with the MAKE POVERTY HISTORY campaign. Mostly we were thinking about poverty in the majority world... it is still not history! And it is worse still that there are 4 million children in the UK living in poverty.... simultaneously we have more billionnaires and millionnaires an sadly, tax avoiders!
I will take a little action by taking part in CPAG's Child Poverty Action Walk. Between 5th and 18th October, during Challenge Poverty Weeks in Scotland, England and Wales, I will be walking and contributing to a collective 4 million steps for the 4 million children in the UK growing up in poverty.
That’s eight children in an average class of 30 missing out on things many of us take for granted, from having enough food and warm clothes to taking part in school trips and activities with friends.
If you can, please donate to my page and you can help CPAG:
•Campaign for changes that lift children and families out of poverty.
• Support families to access the financial help they need.
• Ensure the voices of children and families are heard by decision- makers.
• Challenge policies and practices that trap children in poverty.
Child poverty is not inevitable. Every donation can help power the fight to end child poverty. Please support me if you can. Thank you.
