A unique 14-mile Peak District challenge tackling rugged trails, iconic summits and historic crash sites... all while raising vital funds for Mummy's Star.

Story

On Sunday 27th September, I'll be undertaking in a 14-mile hike (with five summits!) in the Peak District to raise vital funds for Mummy's Star.

In 2025 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma when I was 14 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and just two weeks after losing my own mum to cancer. I had five rounds of chemotherapy whilst I was pregnant and our gorgeous little boy Dylan arrived healthy at 38 weeks. I then had one final round of chemotherapy. After an inconclusive scan and a challenging couple of months I received the welcome news that I was in remission in January 2026. Mummy's Star supported me every step of the way, with a support worker, counselling, information, peer support and even helping me to source donor breastmilk.

After nine months of caring for my mum, nine months of pregnancy and chemotherapy, and a year of becoming a mum myself, I'm sure this hike will be physically demanding, but the incredible sense of achievement at the finish line will make every step worthwhile. I'd be so grateful for any support to help me raise funds for this vital charity.
