Story
For my 4th year of fundraising - unfortunately. I'd like to help raise funds to support those in need. This year on Sunday 12th April - the date of Brighton marathon 2026 - will be 1,508 days since the start of the war.
The full-scale invasion of Ukraine has lasted for over three and a half years.
Unfortunately the war rages on and destroying the country and ruining lives.
For us, every life is invaluable. This is why I`m helping Stand for U charity Brighton to raise money for an evacuation bus. And Parсels of hope for Ukraine!
Stand for U Brighton and has been successfully supporting a range of causes to help those in need since the invasion and formerly became a registered charity in 2025. My father in law and mother in law are very active participants in the organisation - including overflow and temporary donation storage in their garage when required.
We successfully raised funds in 2024 to support emergency supplies for Ukraine, in 2025 to raise funds to enable an evacuation minhus/ambulance to be donated supported logistically and delivered to Ukraine.
This year we'd like to work towards another vehicle (10 so far!) And supporting the storage and organisation of the charities efforts, covering rent of storage space to collect vast swathes of useful donations.
This year is my 3rd Brighton marathon in a row, following on from Brighton half marathon on Sunday 1st of March as well. Hoping for a clean solid performance - always chasing a faster time (2:52:15 personal best marathon to beat) but especially hoping for a consistent level, even paced delivery (ideally no cramps, walking, slowing down massively etc...)
