Story
I'm taking on this years Great North Run in support of the Sunshine Fund.
If you know me, you'll know running is not my thing - so this is a big challenge. That said, you'll also know I have a competitive streak, so I'll be aiming for a strong finish...though I'm not committing to a time (yet).
On the day, I'll be supported by those around me, but also knowing that people have backed me and this charity. So if you can, please apply the pressure and donate!
The Sunshine Fund is one of the longest standing charities in the North East, committed to improving the day-to-day lives of children living with disabilities, additional needs and terminal illness in the region.
The charity funds specialist equipment that isn't available through the NHS, yet can open the door to new opportunities, improve wellbeing, allow families to create special memories, and encourage kids to reach their full potential.
Over 130 people will be racing for Team Sunshine in this year's Great North Run, an iconic event in the region. All donations made will stay in the region, making a direct difference on the lives of local families.
Thank you 💛
