Story
Not long now until I’ll be taking on my first ever marathon!!! to raise money for a cause that genuinely means a great deal to me.
I’m lucky enough to have a personal connection to the Centre — my sister Megan works there. Through her, I’ve been able to attend events and see first-hand the incredible impact the Centre has. Every time I’m involved in anything connected to it, it fills me with genuine pride — not only in the work being done, but in the compassion and dedication behind it.
The truth is, I’ve always deeply admired what my sister and her colleagues do. The patience, care, and commitment they show every day is extraordinary. It takes a special kind of person to support young adults with disabilities in the way they do, and I’m constantly in awe of the genuine relationships they build and the difference they make.
I’ve never done fundraising like this before, but that’s exactly why this challenge matters so much to me. I’ve often felt unsure how I can meaningfully show my support for my sister and the Centre — because I don’t have the same skills they do. Running the marathon is my way of contributing in a real and tangible way, and raising funds that will directly support the life-changing work the charity provides.
My goal is to raise a minimum of £2,000, and I’m fully committed to not only reaching it, but pushing beyond it.
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, I’d be hugely grateful. Every contribution helps, and your support will keep me motivated through the training and the 26.2 miles on the day.
Thank you so much for backing me — and for supporting such an important charity.
Charlie :)
