Story
On a crisp spring morning in London, thousands of runners gather at the start line of the London Marathon.
They’ve trained for months. They’ve pushed through pain barriers. They’ve committed to something bigger than themselves.
This year, they’re running for our young adults with disabilities.
And while our young people won’t be on the start line, they are the reason every mile matters.
Because for many of the young adults we support, life can sometimes feel like a marathon of its own.
It’s navigating a world that isn’t always accessible.
It’s overcoming low expectations.
It’s pushing past barriers physical, social, and emotional that others don’t see.
It’s showing up, again and again, with courage.
Our marathon runners have chosen to take on 26.2 miles so our young adults can take on their own challenges with the right support behind them.
When runners cross Tower Bridge to a wall of noise, they’ll feel the lift of thousands of strangers cheering them on. When they dig deep through Canary Wharf, they’ll keep going because they know who they’re running for. And when they reach the finish line near Buckingham Palace, the medal they receive will represent more than endurance.
It will represent opportunity.
Your support will help us provide:
Accessible programmes tailored to individual needs
Specialist mentoring and confidence-building activities
Skills development to promote independence and employment
Safe spaces where young adults can build friendships and thrive
For the young people we work with, these aren’t “extras.” They are lifelines. They are stepping stones toward greater independence, stronger self-belief, and fuller participation in the world around them.
Our runners are going the distance so that young adults with disabilities don’t have to face their journeys alone.
Every mile run is a statement: inclusion matters.
Every donation is a message: you are valued.
Every pound raised helps remove a barrier.
Please support our London Marathon team today.
Together, we can turn determination on the course into lasting change off it.
