For Theo, and every other heart warrior and family like ours ❤️

At 32 weeks pregnant, after 12 weeks of scans and tests, we found out Theo’s diagnosis of Pulmonary Atresia with a large VSD. ✨ A fancy way of saying his pulmonary valve (which takes blood to the lungs) hasn’t developed properly, and he has a large whole in his heart ✨

Theo had his first stent procedure at 16 days old, and he will need an open heart surgery to do a full repair by the time he is 6 months.

We are so grateful for the early diagnosis as this has allowed us time to process and prepare for the journey to come. It also meant that Theo was born in the best environment with all the experts on hand.

Every year in the UK, 1 in every 100 babies is born with a serious heart condition. For families, that diagnosis can change everything in an instant. This October, I’m taking on The 100 Challenge to help Tiny Tickers give babies with congenital heart disease the best possible start in life.
