For Theo, and every other heart warrior and family like ours ❤️

Theo was born a serious congenital heart defect called Pulmonary Atresia, accompanied by a large ventricular septal defect. A fancy way of saying that the normal route for blood to reach his lungs hadn’t developed properly, and he had a large hole between the ventricles in his heart.

We were extremely lucky that Theo’s condition was detected early - the defect was picked up at our 20 weeks NHS scan and later diagnosis at 32 weeks.

The early diagnosis meant that Theo was born in the safest environment. He was transferred straight to NICU to receive lifesaving medication, and had his first heart procedure at 16 days old.

Most recently, at just 4 months old, Theo underwent a 9 hour open heart surgery to fully repair his heart. None of this would have been possible without the early detection and interventions - the early detection quite literally saved his life ❤️

This is why we are raising money for Tiny Tickers.

Every year in the UK, 1 in every 100 babies is born with a serious heart condition. For families, that diagnosis can change everything in an instant. This October, I’m taking on The 100 Challenge to help Tiny Tickers give babies with congenital heart disease the best possible start in life.
