Story
Myself and Dylan have chosen to support the Great North Air Ambulance Service for our charity walk this year. Northumberland is predominantly rural (about 97%) with rugged terrain, making it vast and beautiful, but also stark and baron at times. Upon our many adventures throughout Northumberland, we’ve been blessed to return home safely. I pray that no one ever needs to use this crucial and life saving service, but just in case, could you find it in your hearts to donate and cheer us along our 90 mile goal - Pom-poms and confetti at the ready!
Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital being approximately 40 minutes away via a very busy and often congested Bypass and Motorway, further if you’re situated more rurally, The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is often the difference between life or death. They rescue hundreds of severely injured or critically ill patients every year throughout the North East. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a busy inaccessible city centre. The charity responded to 2,083 call outs in 2024 alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
