Peak District Ultra Challenge 2025 · 28 June 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Congenital heart disease is one of the biggest killers of infants. Every 2 hours a baby is born with a serious heart defect. Our specialist training means that now more than half of them are picked up during pregnancy. This is why Tiny Tickers exists; to give babies a better start in life.

Story

On the 28th June, I will be taking in the Peak District Ultra Challenge alongside my brother Matt (Teo’s dad) and Sam (Teo’s uncle) taking on the full 100km in a day in memory of my precious nephew, Teo, who was born with a congenital heart defect. Though his life was far too short, the love he brought into our lives will never fade.

This walk is not only in his honour but also a thank you to the incredible charity Tiny Tickers, who supported Matt, Marga and my beautiful niece Matilda, through the most difficult time of their lives. The emotional support and the compassion they received made an unbearable experience just a little more bearable.

Every step I take is for Teo, for his brave parents, and for the countless other families affected by congenital heart conditions. Your donation will help ensure more families receive the support, care, and hope they need when facing unimaginable challenges.

Thank you 🩵

A baby is born with a serious heart condition every two hours in the UK and despite congenital heart disease being one of the biggest killers of infants, only around half of congenital heart defects are picked up during routine prenatal scanning.

With your help we can provide a safety net for the 1,000 babies each year that leave hospital with their heart defect undetected, increasing detection rates, improving a baby’s chances of survival and long-term quality of life.
