Story
On Sunday 29 November 2026, I will be taking on the Mournes Seven Sevens - one of Northern Ireland's toughest one-day hiking challenges - to raise money for 3Eighteen's work in Zambia. As part of a team of 15, I’ll be spending around 12 hours on the mountain, starting at 6am, as we aim to summit all seven peaks in the Mournes over 700m in a single day: Slieve Binnian, Slieve Lamagan, Slieve Donard, Slieve Commedagh, Slieve Bearnagh, Slieve Meelmore and Slieve Meelbeg. It is a demanding trek of around 22-23km, with about 2,000m of elevation gain and some truly steep terrain along the way.
I am doing this because 3Eighteen’s microloan and training programmes are creating real, lasting opportunities for people in Zambia. They help people build businesses, support their families, and keep young people in education. Right now, with exchange rates making this work more expensive, every donation matters even more. Your support can help turn determination into dignity and give people the chance to build a stronger future.
This trek will be a long and challenging day, but the effort of taking on the mountains is nothing compared with the difference a small gift can make to someone starting again with hope.
Please consider sponsoring me and helping 3Eighteen continue this important work.
Thank you for your support. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Once you donate, your money goes directly to the charity, helping save time and reduce costs so more can go where it is needed most.
