Story
On 19 June, I’ll be taking on the Commando Challenge – a demanding endurance event designed to test stamina, strength, fitness and determination under pressure.
Originally created in 2009, the Commando Challenge is inspired by the qualities expected of Royal Marine Commandos: resilience, teamwork and staying cheerful when things get tough. It’s going to push me well beyond my comfort zone.
Set in the stunning Lake District, the challenge must be completed in under 12 hours and includes:
🚣 Canoeing Ullswater – 12km From Pooley Bridge to Glenridding
🏔️ Climbing Helvellyn via Striding Edge – 10km Tackling one of the Lake District’s most famous and exposed routes, reaching the summit at 950m before descending to Thirlmere
🚵 Mountain biking – 35km Riding around Thirlmere and over the Old Coach Road before returning to Pooley Bridge
I’m taking on this challenge to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, who provide practical, medical and emotional support to people living with cancer and their families when they need it most.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help Macmillan continue their incredible work — and will give me an extra boost to keep going when the challenge gets tough.
Thank you so much for your support 💚
