Story

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

Meet our goalkeeper Jonah Hill. His dad Jimmy is 39 years old and has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and has recently undergone surgery to remove the tumour and is currently on the long road to recovery. Friends and family are forever grateful to the Brain Tumour Research Charity for the help and support throughout this awful time. Walney Yellows U8’s are a football team from the Barrow & District Junior Football League (BDJFL) and are undergoing a 12 hour charity 5a side football match that involves the 11 squad players and their friends and family with all proceeds raised going to the Brain Tumour Research Charity. The charity match is taking place at Tummer Hill playing fields on Walney on Saturday 27th July from 0900 - 2100. As you can imagine 12 hours is a tough challenge for the children who are aged 7 and 8 and also not forgetting their parents and your support is much appreciated in helping us raise funds for this amazing charity
