Story
On 15th June 2024 I will be running from Carlisle to Newcastle (70 miles, 112km) along the entire length of Hadrian's Wall. I'm doing this to raise money for Butterflies Dementia Support and Activity Group.
Then, from 29 September to 9 October, I'll be in Peru where I'll be trekking the Inca Trail which is 42 miles long and includes 2,500m of elevation gain through the Andes. As part of the trek, I'll be passing over 'dead woman's pass' at over 4,000m and camping along the trail - I won't be running this though ;)
Butterflies has been a massive part of my Grandmas life for many years and I am really proud to be raising funds for such an amazing charity. 12 months ago I couldn't run to the end of the street but over the last year I have run hundreds of miles to prepare for this. I've run in the rain, through heat waves, through storms and I've run in the snow. I've run until it hurts, run until I've cried and run until I've bled. I've done it all with the goal of raising funds to help my Grandma and her friends at Butterflies.
Butterflies is an amazing charity that supports people living with a diverse range of illnesses and learning difficulties, and people who are lonely and isolated. The funding will provide a range of social and support activities that will bring people together to build strong relationships, improve physical health and wellbeing and reduce loneliness.
