Story
You've probably heard me say "never again" more than once after doing this back in 2012. But after narrowly missing out on the top three, I couldn't shake the thought: why not give winning another shot?
So I've dug the trainers out, come out of retirement, and I'm taking on the London Marathon on 25th April 2027, for a charity that holds a truly special place in my heart.
I would have been lost without Julia's House. They offered respite, care, home visits and moral support to my Hannah from an early age right up until she turned 18. And when I had cancer in 2023, they were there for Paula, Hannah and Megan too. I spent six months in hospital, and the love and care they gave my family in that time will stay with me forever, from looking after Hannah while Paula and Megan came to visit me, to taking Megan out on day trips and adventure days. They took the strain off all of us.
Nothing I do will ever repay what they gave us, and they're without doubt the only charity that could get me to take on this mad challenge again.
I've seen first-hand the incredible work they do, not just at the hospice, but out in the community. And like every charity, they rely on donations to keep going. I know how much good this will do, and how much joy it will bring to the children they help. So I'm asking you to dig deep and help me support them.
If you don't already know them: Julia's House provides specialist care for children with life-limiting and complex conditions, helping families make precious memories together. Their nurses and carers bring expert clinical care alongside fun, laughter and compassion, while giving parents a vital lifeline through much-needed respite and support. As a charity, they depend heavily on donations to keep providing that lifeline to families across Dorset and Wiltshire.
Please support my London Marathon challenge if you can. Every donation, big or small, helps Julia's House be there for children and families when they need it most. Thank you.
