I am running the Great South Run in Portsmouth (Oct 15th) and the London Marathon (April 21st). I got in via the ballot so can select my own charity.

I've opted for Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, even though I don't live in the region anymore, for a variety of reasons:

1) A good friend of mine has needed them before.

2) Another good friend works for them fundraising.

3) They helped transfer some of my teammates to hospital when we were struck by lightning in 1995.

4) My late grandad requested donations be made to them at his funeral.

5) I helped raise £1000 for them years ago with RHTTS

6) It's a joke that Air Ambulances need to be charities.

I'm aiming for £360 as that is £10 per mile (10 miles in Pompey and 26 in London)
