Story
Watching Ethan and Daddy get covered in paint last year was one of the highlights of Toby’s year such that he recreates the mess regularly and he has asked to join in. Given he’s 3, and frequently proclaims his inability to walk, this is likely to mean you are sponsoring Daddy to carry Toby for 5k. Daddy thus demanded Mummy also join in as encouragement to both children to move independently. Despite running being against Mummy’s better judgement, hospices are important to her. Mainly because she wants them to actually still be about so she can use one when she’s dying. So we’re all running/walking/crawling 5k. Joy. Please sponsor us to make it vaguely worthwhile.
With your help, over 1,000 local people living with a terminal diagnosis can be cared for by Birmingham Hospice at any one time. It costs over £16 million a year to fund our services, over 40% of which needs to be covered through fundraised income. That’s why the money you raise is so important; it ensures that our specialist care and support is available for more people and their families, at a time when they need it the most.
You may have seen BBC News recently highlight that a rising cost of living and decrease in donations is affecting hospices across the country. Hospice UK estimates that hospices will face up to £120 million of additional costs this year.
Birmingham Hospice are so incredibly grateful to have such a dedicated community of supporters. Thank you for your ongoing support!
