Story
Chris's friends and family are holding Charity Quiz Night in aid of The Christopher Tween Foundation & SUDEP Action on 4th August 2023 - 7PM at Godstone Farm, Tilburstow Hill Road, Godstone, RH9 8LX.
Chris was a local lad having studied at de Stafford and Reigate College.
In August 2019 Chris was offered a place to study a BSc degree course in Psychology by the University of Sussex. He had received a diagnosis of epilepsy 3 years earlier.
Chris went to bed in the early hours of morning of August 30th, 2019, after a night of playing Dungeons & Dragons online with his friends. It was later that morning he died in his sleep from what we now know to be SUDEP. (Sudden unexpected Death in Epilepsy). He was just 19 years old.
SUDEP This is a little-known condition which most patients, families and carers are not told about – until it is too late.
The Christopher Tween Foundation and (SUDEP Action, registered charity 1164250) are working together to raise vital awareness of SUDEP and epilepsy risk. With at least 21 people dying each week from epilepsy in the UK (the majority of them under the age of 35).
The aim is to reduce death from epilepsy and to make sure potentially lifesaving knowledge and awareness of risk are brought to the attention of as many people as possible. SUDEP Action also supports those who have been bereaved by epilepsy.
Please help us by giving what you can to help other families and friends avoid experiencing the pain and never ending trauma that the death of such a young person brings and ensure more young people keep their futures.
