Story
I am delighted to be running the Robin Hood Half for this amazing charity.
I turned 50 last year and decided a needed a challenge in my 50th year, I went to school with Rich and he inspired me every day then and continues to do so all these years later.
The Richard Whitehead Foundation enables disabled people’s ambitions through the power of sport and physical activity. Everyone should have the opportunity to take on challenges like the Robin Hood Half Marathon.
Your donations contribute to directly to the foundation's Supported Sports Projects, which empower and enable disabled people to take part in running and swimming events with support from a volunteer.
A support runner/swimmer is a volunteer who runs alongside a disabled person to provide physical and emotional support throughout the race. They can help with pacing, motivation, navigation, and responding to any additional needs on the day, ensuring they feel confident and safe from start to finish.
Every £240 raised can help one disabled person take part in a sporting activity or event.
Thank you so much for your support!
