My sister and I are doing The Great North Run in September this year to raise money for two causes , Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s research.

Our mum Liz has dementia and our dad Peter has Parkinson’s so we've experienced firsthand how these diseases can affect not just individuals, but their families too. That said our parents are doing well at the moment and thankfully they have each other which makes a world of difference . However, not everyone is as fortunate.

That’s why we’re running — for the people and families facing these conditions without the same support.

Each of us is running for a different charity. This page is for donations to Alzheimer’s Research UK, a fantastic organisation funding vital research into understanding, treating, and defeating dementia.
