Story
We are doing The Great North Run in September this year to raise money for two causes - Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s research.
Our mum Liz has dementia and our dad Peter has Parkinson’s so we've experienced first-hand how these diseases can affect not just individuals, but their families too. That said our parents are doing well at the moment and thankfully they have each other which makes a world of difference . However, not everyone is as fortunate.
That’s why we’re running — for the people and families facing these conditions without the same support.
Each of us is running for a different charity. Emily is running for Parkinson’s UK - a fantastic charity that campaigns for better health and care, funds research into groundbreaking new treatments and runs life-changing support services. Clare is running for Alzheimer's Research UK who work to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.
Anything you feel able to give is hugely appreciated.
Thank you so much for your support.
