Update - this Tuesday I went to have my Tattoo done! Unfortunately after it was half done I managed to faint. Apparently it was 10 mins before I came round, I was fairly incoherent for another 10 mins and then I threw up several times over the next 15 mins. Had to phone a friend to take me home!
However it hasn’t stopped me, after all I can’t go around with half a tattoo, so after my trip to Hampshire I’m going back to the salon to get it finished off.
Having seen first hand the difference a guide dog can make to a vision impaired person, I'm fundraising for the Guide Dogs Puppy Appeal to help turn pups into life-changing guide dog partnerships.
I had no idea how much it cost to breed, care for and train a guide dog. It’s far more than I ever imagined. This charity (along with many other deserving charities) receives no government funding which in itself is a disgrace.
So I’m doing something I’ve wanted to do for a few years but have always put off as I’m too frightened. I’m going to get a tattoo, even if as expected, it hurts!
Every day, 250 people in the UK begin to lose their sight – that’s one person every six minutes. Without the right support, people can be left feeling alone and isolated. From their friends and family, careers and communities, from the world they knew and the lives they planned.
But Guide Dogs transform the lives of people with vision impairments; being partnered with a guide dog reduces loneliness and enables people with sight loss to get out and live the life they choose.
Even a small donation can make a big difference. Together, we can help raise the next generation of guide dogs.
