Story
My name is Francis, I was homeless for three years and I will be sleeping out in a tent for a week in March to raise money for Charles Thompson's Mission in Birkenhead. I want to give back because they gave me so much help when I was at my lowest.
Some of you may know me from sleeping in the grounds of St Luke's Church in Hoylake.
The Mission feed the homeless everyday and provide tents and sleeping bags for rough sleepers.
I'm lucky to have a flat now and while I still have my mental health struggles, I'm back on my feet.
I'd like to raise money to be able to help others in the same situation I was in. I'll be spending a week in a tent from March 19th and I should have a few former homeless friends spending a night or two out as well.
About the mission...
Serving the people of Birkenhead and the Wirral since 1892, the Mission looks to help men and women who are homeless, poor and needy, out of poverty. We provide hot food, clothing, toiletries, other basic essentials, along with much love, care and compassion. For many, the Mission is a place to come for friendship, food, support and advice. It’s a safe place that offers help. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to play our part in this community.
If you can donate whatever you can manage that would be appreciated. Funds donated via this page go straight to the charity's bank account. Many thanks.
