Hackney Half Marathon 2026 · 17 May 2026 ·

The Hackney Half brings runners of all abilities together to take on an iconic challenge while raising vital funds. Supporting Furnishing Futures, every mile helps turn empty properties into safe, furnished homes for survivors rebuilding their lives.

Story

This May, a few of the COAT team are taking on the Hackney Half Marathon in support of Furnishing Futures.

Furnishing Futures is an incredible organisation that transforms empty social housing into fully furnished healing homes for women and children escaping domestic abuse.

Many abuse survivors are rehoused with nothing - no flooring, no beds, no curtains and no basic furniture. We've seen it first hand, and the state of these properties is so bad it can often leave women wondering whether escaping was worth it at all. An unimaginable place to be.

Furnishing Futures steps in as a force for good to change that. Their team creates safe, healing homes, working alongside the interiors industry to source materials that would otherwise go to waste.

As a team, COAT believes so much in the power of "home", and the strength it can have in transforming lives. That's why we work with Furnishing Futures as our official charity partner, supplying paint and our time.

We're aiming to raise £1,000 through this run - but with your support we'd love to go even further for this amazing organisation.

To give you an idea of what your donation could help provide:

£150 - A Kitchen Essentials Bundle, to ensure meals can be prepared

£300 - A Full Home Bundle, to cover the basics of a functioning home
