Story
In June 2026, I’m taking on the Tour de Mont Blanc to raise vital funds for Day One Trauma Support. From 17th to 21st June, I’ll be joining the Day One Trek team to cross three countries in three days of trekking, circling the highest peak in Western Europe and covering some of the most spectacular alpine terrain in the world.
This challenge will see me hike through Italy, Switzerland and France, navigating steep trails, glacier-fed valleys, open meadows and dramatic mountain passes.
Why I’m Doing This
Major trauma can happen to anyone, at any time. Every year in the UK, thousands of people experience life-changing injuries - often without warning. After the emergency care ends, survivors and their families are frequently left facing overwhelming physical, emotional and financial challenges.
Through my work at STEPS Prosthetics, I treat people who have suffered traumatic amputations. I see firsthand the impact these life-changing events have - not only on the injured person, but also on their families. I also see the extraordinary difference Day One makes. Their support provides a lifeline at a time when it is needed most.
About Day One Trauma Support
Day One is a national charity providing personalised support to anyone affected by catastrophic injuries - offering psychological support, peer mentoring, practical help with work, welfare and financial issues, and emergency grants for essentials like food, travel or equipment.
The charity receives no NHS or government funding, and relies entirely on fundraisers and donations.
How You Can Help
If you’re able, please consider donating to my fundraising page for Day One Trauma Support. Your generosity will help ensure no one faces the aftermath of major trauma on their own.
Thank you so much for your support.
