I’m taking on a mammoth challenge to raise money for Jigsaw South East, the local charity that supports children and young people facing or coping with the death of a loved one.

In September 2025, I welcomed a group of children and their families from Jigsaw South East to a golf day at Horne Park Golf Club. It was a great chance for them to try out golf and see that they are not alone in their grief. It was a huge success with some of those children coming back to the club to play some more and many others talking about their grief openly with others who have been through the same. This is Jigsaw South East’s mission – to ensure no child is alone in their bereavement journey.

To help raise money and awareness for this amazing charity, I have committed to the longest week of golf at Horne Park Golf Club!

I will take on 72 holes of golf a day for 7 days – a total of 504 holes!

In a straight line this would equate to 80 miles walking over the week (but with my swing it will be many more!). I won’t be using a buggy at all!

I will start the challenge on Sunday the 23rd of August 2026 and finish with a celebration (and a long sit down!) on Saturday the 29th of August. To make the most of the daylight I will be starting around 6.30am every morning and finishing up around 6pm.

Green fees will be waived by Horne Park Golf Club (thank you!) for any visitors that want to take on a round with me. 4. Join me at the clubhouse on Saturday the 29th of August for a celebratory meal/drink and to buy tickets to the raffle

The money raised will enable Jigsaw South East to continue supporting children and young people facing or coping with the death of a loved one. They do this by offering 1:1 and group sessions led by compassionate support workers, guidance to family members and training for school staff. They also organise social events and activities to bring people together and get them talking about their experiences. They support over 900 children and young people per year but with an average of 14 new referrals each week, they need more funding to help more children, anything you can spare will make a big difference to this small charity, thank you.
