we are on a mission to raise 15 million pounds for mental health.

Story

We are the WhyWeRun Class of 2026.

In the next 6 months I am continuing to raise critical funds and awareness for bigmoose through taking on 3 challenges. WhyWeRun 250km, 24 Hour Backyard Ultra - Mackyard Events and Arc of Attrition 100 miles.

Supporting people with their mental health is at the heart of what bigmoose do. While therapy waiting lists in Wales can be as long as 36 weeks, bigmoose replies to each person within 24 hours and provides a therapy session within 1 week.

This rapid access makes a huge difference, allowing for early intervention when it matters most. Using their Human Givens approach, they provide solution focused therapy designed to help people regain control of their emotional wellbeing and mental health.

WhyWeRun is a unique 250km ultra running event. Not a race, but an event with a greater purpose: runners run for themselves, and for something much bigger than themselves too - a shared goal not only to complete this mammoth distance together, but also to raise crucial funds and awareness for mental health charity, bigmoose. This is taking place in Pembrokeshire, Wales on 15th - 19th September 2026.

Up next is a 24 Backyard Ultra on Saturday 3rd October 2026 hosted by Mackyard Events. The aim of this event is to run a 6.7km loop on the hour every hour for 24 hours. If I make it to the end, I will have achieved 100 miles. This is an event I have never tackled before but it really excites me. You have to show that you can go so much further mentally than what your body thinks!

Finally, I am going back to an old favourite - The Arc of Attrition 100 miles. Well it’s 110 miles now. People who know me well will know I have attempted this race before. I really went through the trenches on this event and had to show mental fortitude I didn’t know I had but I am glad I have now found!

People may know I lost have lost both my Mum and Dad. As much as I didn’t show it, or wanted to speak about it, this really hit me hard and these are the two people that drive me to undertake this challenges. Without them I wouldn’t be who I am today. They are always in my thoughts every step of the way and give me the stubbornness to never give up. I always know, what ever pain I am ever in, they have been through so much more in their lives and to provide for my brothers and I.

Any donations to bigmoose who are an incredible mental health charity would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to keeping you all updated on my progress.

Thanks, Connor
