Story
This September, something epic is happening at Tilgate Park. Picture it. Drums pounding, paddles splashing the roar of the crowd and our team charging down the lake in a Dragon boat, racing against other local businesses in a battle of strength, spirit, and sheer determination.
But this is not just any glory (although we’re going to win) We’re racing for something much bigger. To raise £2000 For St Catherines Hospice, a charity that gives incredible care to people facing terminal illness, right here in our community. Every year, the hospice cares for around 2,500 people living with a terminal or life-limiting illness on its hospice wards, in their own homes or in care homes.
St Catherines is there when it matters most. Offering expert medical support, comfort and dignity to patients and their families through the toughest time. Their work is powered by people like us, and you.
It costs around £12 million to run the hospice each year but less than a third of this comes from the NHS. The rest is raised through the support and generosity of the local community.
So, we’ve set ourselves a challenge, take on the dragon boats, beat the local competition and raise some serious money to help St Catherines keep doing what they do best.
Will you get behind us? Every donation. Big or small, or somewhere in between helps us reach our goal and brings real care to real people. It’s not just a race. It’s a cause worth fighting (and paddling) for.
Let’s make waves together!
Thank you,
Cottesmore.
