Story
Zero running experience. Ten weeks to prepare. 105.5km to complete.
We are Ajmal Jaleel, Hashim Khan, Naimur Rahman, Adil Modak and Awaab Qurnass. On 8th August, each of us will be taking on a half marathon (21.1km) to raise money for Human Appeal’s Sudan Emergency Appeal.
Just a few weeks ago, none of us were runners. We’ve started from scratch, with early mornings, sore muscles, tired legs and countless kilometres of training. Every run pushes us further out of our comfort zone, but every kilometre has a purpose.
While this challenge will test us physically and mentally, it is nothing compared to the daily reality faced by millions of people in Sudan. Over 30 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance, nearly 11 million people have been displaced from their homes, and 25.6 million people are facing a food crisis.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Human Appeal provide life-saving support to those who need it most.
What your donation could provide:
• £15 – A girl’s hygiene kit to preserve health and dignity. Human Appeal will provide 4 additional kits for free.
• £25 – A nutritious hot meal for 25 people.
• £30 – Food for one orphan for one month.
• £30 – Treatment for 10 people at a mobile clinic.
• £50 – A nutritious family food parcel for one month.
• £80 – Two months of daily bread.
• £130 – Weather-appropriate clothing for one displaced family.
Please support us as we take on this challenge and help make every kilometre count.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
