Story
For the second time, a group of runners (staff, students and parents) have come together to take on the Hampton Court Half Marathon during the busiest term of the academic year. In the cold, dark months of winter, our runners have chosen to test both our physical endurance and mental resilience in support of a charity that lies very close to the heart of the Cranleigh community: Beyond Ourselves.
Many Cranleighians have travelled to Zambia and witnessed first-hand the extraordinary work carried out by Beyond Ourselves. Their projects include school food programmes, teacher education initiatives and dignity training, all of which are transforming lives. In particular, the successful rollout of the Jolly Phonics programme has made a significant contribution to improving literacy rates in Zambia.
Our students have shown tremendous character and commitment, training consistently despite the considerable academic pressures of this term. From long weekend runs to half-term training races, they have embraced the challenge with maturity and determination.
Any support would be hugely appreciated and every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and will mean a great deal to all of us taking part. Thank you for supporting both our runners and the vital work of Beyond Ourselves.
