Story
In October 2026, I will be taking part in a 5-day trek across Cambodia to raise funds. The route covers more than 90 km through rice fields, jungles, and traditional villages. I know it will be a real physical and mental challenge, but I’m ready to give my all every step of the way.
I decided to join this challenge a few weeks ago, after seeing an Instagram post from my friend Louse, who works with the organisation. As I read about the cause, everything started to make sense: I had never done anything like this before, but the idea of helping others truly spoke to me.
Four years ago, when Isabel (my daughter) was in London for her heart operation, we received support from several charities. That help made an enormous difference at a difficult time, and ever since then I’ve felt the need to give back. This challenge became the perfect way to do that.
I felt this was the moment: now or never. Everything pointed to this year being a chance to turn my gratitude into something meaningful for others.
For me, this challenge is personal and emotional. The journey through Cambodia will be tough, but also an opportunity to look back and feel grateful for everyone who has helped me get here.
Your support will not only help me complete this trek, but also allow more people to receive the help and care that once made such a difference to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for contributing to something that can truly change lives.
St Catherine's Hospice cares for local people at the end of their lives in Surrey and Sussex, and supports those closest to them. Every step taken by our hospice heroes on their journey across Cambodia will help the hospice be there for local people and those close to them when life comes full circle.
