Help Rudy/Cuore Deli save lives in Brondesbury

Giles Deards is raising money for Friends of Kensal Rise Library
Having defibrillators nearby can improve someone’s chances of surviving cardiac arrest by 70%. But Kensal Rise and the neighboring streets have poor defib coverage. Help the Library raise money to install defibrillators for our community.

Story

Rudy responded to Kensal Rise Library's 24/7 defib campaign by....

...kindly offering to house one outside Cuore Italian Deli on Sidmouth Rd

A 24/7 defib here would be fantastic because the local coverage is awful.

.

There are no 24/7-available defibs between College Green Nursery (College Rd) and Lawnfield Care Home on Coverdale Rd!

In an emergency you would have to run to Nuffield Sports Centre or QPCS or Willesden Sports Centre or Willesden Library and hope the buildings were open!

Our neighbourhood can look after one another better than this?

'Just' £10 donated by 250 people will sort the funds to immediately install one of these life-saving machines.

FACTS ABOUT DEFIBS

Each year in Britain around 30,000 people are struck by sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital environments.

They can affect anyone at any time -- from young children at school to adults when they're at home, work or in public places.

If victims aren't treated properly, more often than not, cardiac arrests are fatal.

That's why it's so important to have defibrillators that provide high-energy electric shocks to the heart in as many public places as possible - if a defib is used within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates jump from 6 to 74 percent.
