The London Ambulance Service (LAS) describe defibrillators as “the gift of life to Londoners of all ages, races, ethnicities and genders and it could also be the gift to your own loved ones”.
LAS has identified Kensal Green as a priority spot.
Although there are 24/7 defibs outside College Green Nursery and Kensal Green Station there is nothing within a critical two minute radius around the Library.
Our first defibrillator would be installed outside Kensal Rise Library so everyone near to the Bathurst Gardens area has 24/7 emergency access.
If you select Gift Aid it will add 25% to the value of your donation, at no extra cost to you.
Any amounts raised over £2,000 will go towards a second defibrillator in Carlton Vale, another area where there is similarly very poor coverage. A member of Kensal Tri recently nearly lost their life because there was nothing nearby when he had cardiac arrest while running.
The Kensal Tri team -- "a bunch of neighbours from across Kensal Rise, Queens Park, Willesden, Kilburn, Harlesden who want to help as many people as possible overcome barriers to enjoying fun exercise" -- is helping the Library with fundraising and offers free training/event entry to anyone wanting to do a sporty challenge to help raise funds .
The Library will be hosting CPR training with the London Ambulance Service this coming October 14.
