Story
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) describe defibrillators as “the gift of life to Londoners of all ages, races, ethnicities and genders and it could also be the gift to your own loved ones”.
LAS has identified Kensal Green as a priority spot.
Of particular concern to the library community is that although there are 24/7 defibs outside College Green Nursery and Kensal Green Station there is nothing within a critical two minute radius around the Library.
We are therefore looking to raise money to install a defibrillator outside Kensal Rise Library so everyone near to the Bathurst Gardens area has 24/7 emergency access.
If you select Gift Aid it will add 25% to the value of your donation, at no extra cost to you.
More generally, the library is looking to raise awareness of the importance of CPR training and having easily accessible defibs.
On October 14 the London Ambulance Service will be coming to Kensal Rise Library to provide free training to people wanting to learn how to give first aid to people who have stopped breathing or whose heart has stopped beating.
We're also lending a hand to campaigns that are raising money for defibrillators in the wider community, across Kensal Rise, Queens Park, Willesden, Kilburn and Harlesden.
You can donate on this page here to help us raise money for the Kensal Rise Library defibrillator.
Or you can choose to support a defib in the area by choosing from the other campaigns outlined on this page. The library is acting as a donation hub for these. We are sharing our knowledge and working in partnership with local organisations to ensure we can achieve the best possible local coverage to help save lives locally.
If you would like to know more about the other campaigns please contact Giles Deards at Kensalqueenspark@gmail or on 07753 949 301.
Your donations are huge appreciated!
