Jo & Alice’s fundraiser for CASK Research Foundation

Joanne Lee is raising money for CASK Research Foundation
CASK gene mutations lead to serious neurological disorders where children often can't talk, walk or even play. 40% have epilepsy and some require feeding tubes. Our organisation supports families and raises money to fund vital research into this catastrophic disease.

Story

There is presently no treatment or cure for Alice’s condition - we need to find something before it’s too late.

This year we are running & raising money for @curecask

Usually we fundraise for charities that have helped Alice in the past but now there is a specific charity dedicated to trying to find a cure for Alice’s genetic condition. We know there is no fix for Alice but halting or slowing the loss of skills is something we need to do before it’s too late 💔

I have no idea how it feels to loose skills like being able to walk, sit on a chair without falling off and basic things like being able to eat and drink (Alice like me was a huge lover of chocolate) but Alice knows just how hard it is to loose these skills and we have no idea what will be next to go as Alice is one of the oldest girls with her condition 💜

We have lots of races coming up this year including Ramathon Half Marathon, a 50K ultra and our big challenge of Kielder Marathon xxx
