Story

Save the Children is an international charity organization that has been working to improve the lives of children in over 100 countries around the world since 1919. Their primary aim is to support children affected by poverty, discrimination, and social exclusion; ensuring that they have access to education, healthcare, protection and food security.

In Ukraine, Save the Children is working to provide essential support to vulnerable children affected by the ongoing conflict in the country, which has displaced over 1.5 million people and left many children without access to education, healthcare, or basic necessities like clean water and shelter.

The Cycle to Ukraine fundraiser was organised with the objective to contribute to this vital cause. Together with 18 boys in my boarding house, we intend to collectively cycle the border to border distance from the UK to Ukraine, 1497km. The challenge we set ourselves is to complete this in the span of a week from the 24th to 30th of April. Through our combined efforts, we hope to be able to improve and change the lives of many children in Ukraine, enabling them to grow, learn, and thrive.
