I am raising funds to support Doorstep Library, an amazing children's charity that recruits and trains volunteers to work with families and children in disadvantaged areas of London, instilling a love of reading in the home through supportive weekly visits.

Reading fires imaginations and minds, encourages curiosity, builds confidence, helps children make sense of the world around them and gives them the tools to communicate who they are in ways that matter to them.

With 1 in 10 children not owning a single book, 1 in 4 11-year-olds leaving primary school unable to read or write and fewer children reading for pleasure, Doorstep Library's volunteers take books and reading directly into homes, supporting families to read together and creating an environment where reading for pleasure is part of everyday life.
