Welcome to my fundraising page for CoppaFeel!

On 9th November, I’ll be embarking on a challenging and life-affirming 5 day trek in the Indian Himalayas, to raise money for breast cancer charity, CoppaFeel!

In January 2022, I was delivered the life-changing news that I had breast cancer at 33, after finding a lump and being sent for further investigations.

After undergoing a year of intensive surgeries, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endocrine treatments, I continue on anti-cancer systemic therapy and endocrine treatments for the next 5 years to reduce my risk for the future.

Fortunately, the cancer was caught at a treatable stage, as there is no breast screening for under 50’s. Younger people represent a small percentage of those diagnosed with breast cancer, and are more likely to be treated at a later stage, need more aggressive treatment and can face poorer outcomes, than for our older counterparts.

I want to raise awareness and empower young people to know their normal, and if in doubt get it checked out!

My aim is to see improved research, awareness and surveillance for younger people, so that our outcomes for the future can be just as good!

This trek will be a huge challenge on my current treatment, but I am determined to reach my goal and fundraise for this amazing cause!

CoppaFeel! are the first UK breast cancer charity to create awareness amongst young people, with the aim to instil a new healthy behaviour that could one day save a life. They are on a mission to ensure breast cancer is diagnosed early and correctly by getting the nation to check their boobs/chest regularly. They want to educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, encourage them to get to know what is normal for them and empower young people to have the confidence to see a doctor if they notice anything that isn't right for them.
