Dan's London Marathon 2026 fundraiser for Oxfam

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event
Yep, I’ve signed up to run 26.2 miles around London, But I’m not just doing it to hit a huge milestone in my midlife crisis or the medal—I'm doing it to raise money for Oxfam, a charity that does incredible work fighting poverty and inequality all over the world.
Oxfam works both around the world and right here in the UK—supporting people through crisis, tackling poverty, and challenging the root causes of inequality. Internationally, they provide life-saving aid during disasters, help communities rebuild, and fight for long-term change on issues like climate justice and gender equality. Closer to home, they work with local partners to combat food poverty, help people access essentials, and campaign for a fairer, more just society. Wherever the need is, Oxfam is there—making a real difference.
To get myself marathon-ready, I’ll also be running the Wembley LDNX 10K in August, the Windsor Half Marathon in September, and the Berlin Half Marathon next March. I'll ensure I provide regular updates on these events and training.
I only started running in May 2024, originally just hoping to build up to a 5K and maybe shift a bit of middle-aged spread. On my first run, I barely managed 300 metres before having to stop and walk which was a real wake-up call. I stuck with it, slowly building up my distance, and before I knew it I’d run my first 5K, tackled a Tough Mudder, and thought, “Hey, a half marathon’s only a few more miles, right?” One thing led to another… and now I’m training for the full 26.2 miles in London.
There really is no backing out now!
If you’ve made it this far—thank you for reading. Oxfam is an amazing charity doing life-changing work, and I’m proud to be running in support of them. Whether you can give a little or a lot, every donation truly counts and will go towards helping people who need it most, both here in the UK and around the world. Please consider supporting my marathon journey by donating whatever you can—it really will make a difference. Thank you so much.
