Story
I sailed as a young boy for fun as part of an after school club, roll on 20 odd years later… with my passion for the outdoors and love for being on the water, I started to experience tall ship sailing with the Jubilee Sailing Trip and later with the Pioneer Sailing Trust.
Fortunately my work enabled me to enable deaf young people to experience tall ship sailing onboard traditional boats for the last 12years.
Having always invested time and passion into helping others, a late friend of mine was always encouraging me to pursue sailing. It wasn’t until his passing, I felt a drive to take this forward.
After finding and joining Deaf Sailing UK, I have been able to polish my skills and never did I think I would be selected to compete competitively!
Your support will help not only my competitive activities but also the future of deaf sailing. Knowing I can demonstrate a positive can-do attitude but also inspire the next generation of deaf sailors.
