Story
Hello everyone,
Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page.
In July 2025, I took part in the Ride for Precious Lives — a three-day, 205-mile cycling challenge for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). It was physically tough, emotionally overwhelming, and one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done. The ride took us through some of the most beautiful — and brutally hilly — parts of the South West, visiting all three of CHSW’s hospices: Little Harbour in St Austell, Little Bridge House in Barnstaple, and Charlton Farm near Bristol.
I’m proud to say I completed the ride — and I’m doing it all over again in 2026.
My daughter Ophelia and I have been supported by Little Harbour for years. Ophelia has an ultra-rare, life-limiting condition called RNF13, which brings with it severe epilepsy, breathing difficulties, scoliosis, CVI, and a host of other complex medical needs. Life can be incredibly hard — but CHSW has been a lifeline for our family. The care, the compassion, the moments of peace they give us… I can’t put into words how much it means.
CHSW isn’t just about end-of-life care — although they do that with extraordinary dignity and love. They offer respite, emergency care, emotional support, and a sense of community to families like ours across the South West. They help children live as fully and as comfortably as possible, and they support whole families in ways that are truly life-changing.
So I’m getting back in the saddle for Ride for Precious Lives 2026 — to raise money, raise awareness, and show my gratitude to a charity that means the world to us.
If you can, please support me by donating to this page. Every penny makes a difference — and helps CHSW continue their incredible work for children like Ophelia.
Thank you so much,
Danielle
