Story
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for visiting our fundraising page.
We are Team Goose — a group of friends riding together in the Ride for Precious Lives 2026 to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). We’re named after our inspiration: Ophelia, lovingly nicknamed Goose, who continues to show us what strength and courage truly mean.
In July 2025, we completed this incredible three-day, 205-mile cycling challenge — and we’re coming back to do it all again in 2026.
This year, the ride begins at Charlton Farm near Bristol, passes through Little Bridge House near Barnstaple, and finishes at Little Harbour in St Austell — a place that holds very special meaning for Ophelia. Over three days, we’ll cycle more than 200 miles across the South West, tackling hills, fatigue, and plenty of emotion along the way — but every mile is worth it.
This isn’t just a ride for us — it’s personal.
Ophelia has an ultra-rare, life-limiting condition called RNF13, which brings with it severe epilepsy, breathing challenges, scoliosis, CVI, and many other complex needs. Life with a medically fragile child can feel overwhelming — but CHSW has been a lifeline for her and for our whole family.
We’ve spent precious time at Little Harbour, and the care and compassion they offer are beyond words. CHSW doesn’t just support children at the end of life — they provide respite, emergency care, emotional support, and so many moments of joy and peace for families navigating the hardest of journeys.
Team Goose is riding to say thank you — and to ensure other families like Ophelia's can continue to receive the same love and support when they need it most.
Please support us if you can. Every donation, big or small, helps CHSW be there for children like Ophelia across the South West.
With heartfelt thanks,
Team Goose
