Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2026 · 10 May 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

The RFL Benevolent Fund provides relief for people who have been injured whilst playing or training for rugby football league.

Story

On 10 May, I will be lining up for the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon to take on 26.2 miles for a cause that means everything to me. As a former player, I know first-hand that Rugby League is built on a foundation of looking after your teammates, and that is exactly why I am raising money for the Rugby League Benevolent Fund.

The Fund does extraordinary work for the unsung heroes of our game. They provide a vital safety net for players who have sustained life-altering injuries on the pitch, offering everything from specialist healthcare and home modifications to long-term emotional support. They ensure that when a player's life changes in an instant, the Rugby League family is there to catch them.

Running this particular marathon in Leeds, inspired by the incredible legacy of Rob Burrow, feels like the right way to give something back to the sport that shaped me. I am honoured to be running alongside my old friend Danny Maun, and together we want to ensure the Benevolent Fund can continue its essential work for years to come.

I would be incredibly grateful for any donation you can spare. Every penny raised goes directly toward helping injured players and their families navigate their toughest challenges. Thank you for standing with us and supporting the game's most important charity.
