As you aware Dan was tragically involved in a road collision on the morning of 14.06.2026.

Despite the best efforts of many emergency services and the Air Ambulance he passed at the scene. He was just 24 years old.

He had overcome a great deal in life, not least being diagnosed with IBD only around two years ago or so.

But last year, the preventative medications, those given in a flare up.....it all just stopped working. I was with him in DCH and they tried lots of combinations of steroids, and infusions.

However, it was deemed that emergency surgery was needed and that was absolutely the right call, as his bowel was close to perforating.

He was just incredible, he was so magnanimous about it. Yes he struggled to accept his stomach, who wouldn't but I remain so proud of everything he managed to deal with.

Dan loved - his family, his friends, his job and the locals, his bike, Weymouth, a drink (or several) a great meal, socialising, a rowdy sing song (on the harbourside) holidays, small children, playing vinyl, Arsenal, pizza, and his amazing HAIR. (still twiddled just as he did since a very young age)
