Hi. I’m going to be swimming a 12 hour overnight relay swim in Jesus Green Lido on the 27-28th June from 7pm to 7am.

Jesus Green pool is an unheated 100 yard (91.4m) outdoor lido in the center of Cambridge.

There are 6 of us swimming friends, known as the Thornton Icicles or Croydon Crabs, who together will be attempting this epic challenge as 2 teams of three, swimming continuously though the night, one hour on, two hours off for a total of 4 hours each.

After having just recently completed a 24 hour swim event in a two man relay team in April I’m fully aware how tough an overnight swimming challenge can be, fighting exhaustion and the cold air at 4am!

10km is the swimming distance equivalent to running a marathon. I’m hoping to personally swim at least 14km over the course of the night.

My team mates and I are taking part in this event to raise money for Level Water, a charity that provides 1:1 swimming lessons all over the UK to children with disabilities, so these children can have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of swimming and fall in love with being in the water as much as we all have.

Please support me in this epic challenge by donating. Any amount will be much appreciated and make a real impact on children’s lives. Every £15 donated will fund 1 life changing swimming lesson. I strongly believe everyone should have the access and opportunity to learn to swim and experience the joys of being in water.
