Skydive fundraiser for Noah's Star

Darryl Jones is raising money for Noah's Star

Skydive · 26 August 2025

Noah’s Star supports families of premature and sick babies and children within Neonatal Unit’s and Childrens Hospitals. In July 2015, the founders twin boys, Oscar, and Noah, were born at 25 weeks. Tragically, Noah lived for only 30 hours, while Oscar faced various health conditions. Balancing their older child’s needs, coping with the loss of Noah, and managing constant anxiety about Oscar's health created immense challenges for the family. Recognising the struggles faced by families in similar situations, the founder of Noah's Star is determined to use her personal experiences and passion to help others. Our objectives are to: • Provide emotional support for the whole family facing the challenges of premature birth • Share practical advice and coping strategies. • Reduce feelings of isolation by connecting parents with others who have similar experiences. • Promote mental health and well-being for the whole family during and after their NICU stay.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This Skydiving event is organised by Noah’s Star, and a few of us are taking part to raise funds for this amazing charity! In a nutshell, they support parents and siblings of babies that are born premature or sick.

My wife and I were blessed with a pair of wonderful identical twin boys who were born at 26 weeks gestation! This resulted in a total of 115 days in hospital before our boys were able to come home for the first time. Anyone who has had a premature baby knows just how challenging and terrifying that NICU journey can be.

Without going into the many scary health issues our two had to overcome, on top of the outstanding care we had from the Birmingham Women’s Hospital and Royal Worcestershire Hospital, Noah’s Star provides all manner of additional support and advice for the families going through this kind of situation. Not just while the babies are in hospital, but for YEARS afterwards. Providing an environment for other parents to get together and support each other on the different stages of their journey.

There are regular meet-ups, and one of the most important and appreciated events are the ones where the children can run around and play with gym equipment like running tracks, bouncy castle slide, and trampoline. All with a group singalong at the end.

One of our twins developed significant balance issues after contracting Sepsis when he was a week old, and the running and playing in the safe environment provided by Noah’s Star has made an immense contribution to developing much stronger balance and coordination in general.

I am taking the plunge, quite literally for this event in order to contribute to the fundraising for Noah’s Star to be able to continue to offer their services for much longer so many other families can benefit during their most challenging times.

Any contributions you can make will be gratefully received, and I appreciate you taking the time to help this cause.

Thank you!!
