Dave's fundraiser for THE LITTLE PUSH 4 GOOD

Dave Young is raising money for THE LITTLE PUSH 4 GOOD
In memory of Kim

a new dawn for better mental wellbeing · 24 May 2026 ·

Our vision is for a more active world for better mental health. Decades of science prove that having an activity focus (physical activity, music, art, learning) can both promote mental wellbeing and help people to recover from mental illness. We help people currently struggling with their mental health and supported by NHS teams. Our aim is to help them unlock an activity focus which can be an important part of their recovery alongside the medical and psychological support they are receiving. It is highly likely that as you read this that you, a loved one or a friend is struggling with their mental health. Over 8m people are taking prescription medications for a mental health issue and 1.8m people are being supported by NHS Mental Health teams. This crisis is impacting on millions of families and we aim to change the script by putting activity at the heart of both promoting mental wellbeing and recovering from mental illness. Please donate to help us support thousands of people struggling with their mental health and help create a world where activity is seen as important to mental health as it is to physical health.

Story

On 17th May I return to the hills for another challenge in support of our charity partner, The Little Push 4 Good

We will scale Skiddaw, England's 6th highest peak, which might not seem as the most notable of challenges, but add the fact we'll be setting off in the middle of the night, in pitch darkness, with the aim of reaching the summit before dawn, (in the hope of witnessing the sun rise over the lake district), makes it that bit more special.

After an incredible event on the same date last year ( https://www.justgiving.com/page/dave-young-yorkshirethreepeakschallenge), when an amazing group not only took on The Yorkshire 3 Peaks with great determination and togetherness, but raised an incredible amount for what was at the time, a pretty new charity.............We go again!

Why? Simply put, there is such a demand for support for people suffering with poor mental health and having seen first hand when caring for my mum, what impact the lack of support can have, I know how important it is to keep pushing forward to help TLP4G.

In the past year, it has been humbling to see what a significant positive impact our efforts of last May have made for many of the most vulnerable people in society and know we can help many more with fundraising for this event.

This type of support was sadly not available for my wonderful mum, but for me to be part of a movement that can help other individuals and their families have some hope for the future is my motivation.

I would be hugely grateful if you would therefore sponsor me if you can, in memory of my mum Kim and in to support a charity who has and will improve the lives of many.

Thanks so much in advance,

Dave x
